Back in the 90s, humongous basketball shoes such as the Nike Air Command Force Ultramarine were all the rage. This model is known for a special feature – an air pump to enhance fit
These shoes were seen on the movie “White Men Can’t Jump” but in a different colorway. However, this pair of Command Force is indeed a retro of an original colorway.
The uppers are all leather and these ship with white laces in a huge box. As with a lot of Nike Sportswear releases, the leather quality here is not the best. However, it gets the job done.
Additionally, the pump doesn’t really seem to work in these retros. I think the main point of these is not the actual technology, but the look and vintage vibe. Still, if you want a guarantee of a working pump for fit, look elsewhere.
With respect to comfort, these are fairly decent for a retro basketball sneaker from this time. Of course they feel huge on feet, given the extra height and padding used. But that’s part of the charm for these!
